Welcome to A Better Way of Ohio
Committed to creating a community of friendships for special needs individuals in the Greater Cleveland area.
Mind, Body and Soul.
A Better Way of Ohio was founded to assist individuals with special needs in day-to-day living, social skills and involvement with the community. Our intent is to not only provide in home support services, but to foster relationships between our clients to reduce the isolation special needs people face. We are a certified provider with Cuyahoga County.
Social skills are an important part of every individual's advancement toward an independent lifestyle. We assess each of our clients and develop a plan which moves that person toward greater independence. Our programs and activities are designed to foster interaction within our community of clients. Planned activities and programs out of the home stimulate social skills and reinforce life skills.
A Better Way of Ohio provides in-home support to adults and children. We assist with daily living challenges, such as light housework, medication reminders and meal preparation. We have staff certified in delegated medication administration for those that require more assistance.
The isolation typical of the developmentally disabled community quite often leads to low self-esteem and a reluctance to interact with the world. A Better Way of Ohio is committed to providing positive experiences in controlled situations, where special needs individuals can interact with their peers. Regular interaction leads to true friendships, encouraging continued participation.
We are proponents of the Special Olympics and participate at events year round. Weekly events are scheduled which allow our clients to develop their social skills, enjoy physical activity, and ultimately, improve their self-esteem.
